Registered Manager in Fostering
The role
Our Registered Managers are inspiring people who lead and manage the fostering teams in their agency. Based in their local area, they make the very best outcomes for foster carers and young people a top priority, using their creativity and open-minded approach to develop all aspects of our carer support.
They understand the primary importance of safeguarding, and they’re ready to act with lightning speed if any child-protection issues arise. Working within our agreed budget is essential too, balancing efficiency and value with delivery of the best possible support.
Performing their role as part of the National Fostering Group, they represent the organisation and promote it as they manage our 24-hour support services. With plenty of help and advice available from our nationwide team, they deliver high-quality services that transform the lives of both foster carers and young people – an incredible achievement, day after day.
What makes a great Registered Manager?
Our Registered Managers are confident and proactive, so we look for previous experience in managing change and a proven track record in a similar setting. There’s lots of supervisory work and responsibility handling budgets, so good people skills and financial prudency are essential too.
From their independent spirit to their ability to work as part of a team, they take responsibility for their own work and for others’ too – and when it comes to keeping people safe and supported, they know there’s nothing more important than that.
