Join National Fostering Group, become a Family Assessment Support Worker and start working towards an incredible future!

The Service

The National Fostering Group's first Residential Family Assessment Centre is based within the Littlehampton area of West Sussex, a 6-bed residential family assessment centre, providing expert parenting capacity assessments for parents, babies, and children.

Our primary purpose will be to provide expert parenting capacity assessment. However, we also believe that our service should exist to provide a safe, secure and welcoming home that builds confidence and equips parents with all the necessary skills to parent safely and independently wherever possible. Throughout the day, families will benefit from receiving 1-to-1 support from designated key workers, while also having access to shared advice, group learning and social activities and practical support throughout the night.

As with all our services, our assessment home will be therapeutically led in the delivery of any interventions, assessments, and practical parenting programmes. We take great pride in delivering outstanding outcomes and, as such, families will benefit from a wide range of courses delivered by a multi-disciplinary team.

All our bedrooms are ensuite and will offer a relaxed and well-equipped space that includes all the furnishings expected within a home environment. Families will also have access to a large kitchen, several communal and therapeutic spaces, and areas that can be booked to facilitate meetings or family visits.

Externally, families will benefit from being closely located to a park, the beach and local town, offering natural opportunities for families to develop skills and thrive both inside the home and out in the community.

The Role

You will be providing direct support to families as required and provide advice and guidance to parents on areas such as the personal care of a baby and the importance of structure and routine.

Under the guidance of colleagues, you will practice systemic thinking and utilise goal-based planning to facilitate and support a positive experience for babies/children and their parents and work positively and effectively with relatives, advocates and others involved with Service Users.

As a Family Assessment Centre Support Worker, you will exercise vigilance in respect of Health and Safety and promptly report all hazards and/or remedying them where appropriate and participate in team meetings, supervisions, and annual reviews in accordance with Company policy and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.

You will maintain a caring, confidential, and culturally sensitive service through always adopting high personal standards.
