Location: Hybrid working from Whetstone office
Salary: £23,400 per annum
Hours: Working 5 out of 7 days to include Saturday and Sunday
Contract Type: Permanent / Full time

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Fostering Advisor to join the National Fostering Group.
About the Group
We are part of the National Fostering Group – the UK’s largest independent fostering family.
Our highly skilled and dedicated fostering community supports Local Trusts by providing short or long-term foster placements for thousands of vulnerable children and teenagers throughout the UK. Most of our 31 regional fostering agencies are officially recognised by Ofsted, Welsh and Scottish regulators as either ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’, it is perhaps not surprising that more people choose to foster with our fostering agencies than any other fostering provider in the UK.
About the Role
The main purpose of the role is to inform, by telephone, interested members of the public about the fostering task and the types of fostering available to help build our family of foster carers across UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to enquiries from members of the public, in a timely manner, by telephone, email and written communication to promote and inform about the fostering task.
- Gathering information on an enquirer's suitability to foster in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
- Recording any information gathered and inputting details onto the relevant enquirer database.
We are looking for someone with a passion for helping the lives of children and young people who find themselves within the care system, but knowledge of foster care is not essential and there is very little direct contact with children and young people involved in this role.
The role requires constant use of an online database and excel based reporting, so excellent IT and web-based management skills are required. A previous background in telephony-based customer service or recruitment would also be advantageous.
The role will require accurate recording of telephone conversations so a high level of written communication skills, including punctuation, syntax and grammar.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop your own personal skills and capability though on-going training as agreed with your line manager.
Please note this role includes working weekends.
