Registered Manager
At National Fostering Group, our Registered Managers are central to our mission of providing safe, nurturing and stable environments for the children and young people in our care. They are responsible for our agencies and their teams of employees and foster families at a local level. While our agencies range in size, this role is vital in ensuring that our fostering services operate effectively, our foster carers are supported and the needs of the children are met with dedication and professionalism.
What are the key responsibilities of a Registered Manager in Fostering?
As a Registered Manager you will:
- Lead and Manage Foster Care Services: You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of your own fostering agency. This includes ensuring your service meets regulatory standards, your team and supported and you ensure the delivery of high-quality care to children and young people.
- Support and Supervise Foster Carers: You will provide ongoing support and guidance to foster carers, ensuring they receive the help they need to care for the children placed with them. Your role will include overseeing regular supervision and training for carers to ensure they are prepared to meet the evolving needs of the children in their care.
- Ensure the Delivery of High-Quality Care: You will work closely with children, families and professionals to ensure the care provided meets individual needs. This includes coordinating care plans, leading regular reviews and ensuring the well-being of each child is a top priority.
- Compliance and Standards: You will ensure that the service operates in line with the necessary regulatory requirements and quality standards, and you’ll be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement in care practices.
- Lead and Develop a Team: You will provide day to day management of people and show leadership to a dedicated team of social workers and support colleagues, ensuring they have the training and resources to excel in their roles. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of care and support across the service.
- Promote Collaborative Working: You will work with external agencies, including local authorities, schools, health services and other professionals to ensure that children’s needs are met holistically and that they are supported in all areas of their development.
- Ensure Safeguarding: Safeguarding is at the core of your role, ensuring that every child placed in care is protected and supported to grow and thrive. You will be responsible for ensuring that safeguarding procedures are followed, and children’s welfare is top priority.
